MAKING HEALTHY CHOICES THIS HOLIDAYS

Food plays a vital role in our everyday lives and we need to CHANGE the way we view food in order to make the healthy choices in our eating. Part of being an empowered woman is to make the right choices for your overall well being, even if they are hard decisions to cut out foods that are draining your energy and making you lethargic.
Choose HIGH VIBE FOODS instead of QUICK FIXES. The more HIGH VIBE foods you consume, the more productive you will be throughout the day!
TIPS ON CHOOSING HIGH VIBE FOODS:
- CHOOSE FOODS THAT ARE VIBRANT IN COLOUR AND RICH IN NUTRIENTS WHICH WILL SUSTAIN YOUR ENERGY AND PRESERVE YOUR HEALTH AND IMMUNITY. EAT ALOT OF FRESH RAW FRUIT AND VEGETABLES - BE IT IN SALADS OR SQUEEZED JUICES!
- GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES - Spinach and lettuce and broccoli are super foods and are rich in Vitamin K.
- SPROUTS - Lentils are rich in protein and helps to absorb the nutrients.
- BERRIES - Strawberries and blueberries are amazing antioxidants.
- FRESH HERBS - Thyme, rosemary and parsley are detoxifying.
- SPICES - Tumeric, cinnamon, ginger and garlic have healing properties and aid in digestion.
- LEGUMES - Beans of all types have a powerhouse of nutrients and are rich in iron, fibre, protein and vitamin B.
- NUTS - Raw Almonds, walnuts and pecans are rich in protein and has healthy fats and omega.
- TEAS - Herbals teas like green tea, rooibos and chamomile have a powerful source of antioxidants and has a cleansing effect.

SECRET JUICE RECIPES
- Part of our daily self care routine is making wise choices about what we eat, for achieving vibrant health. Freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices have a powerhouse of vitamins and nutrition. Drinking it daily has certainly changed my life. I have a glass of fresh juice first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and the positive effects are amazing for energy levels, healthy skin, immunity, weight loss and detoxification. Here are a few of my favourite ones:
- 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗖 - 3 carrots, 1 cup of chopped spinach, 1/4 cup fresh parsley, 1/2 a cucumber, 2 green apples, 2 cloves of garlic, 1/4 lemon.
- 𝗜𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 - 1 whole pineapple, 2 green apples, 3 carrots, 3 cloves of garlic, thumb size ginger, 1/4 lemon and sprinkle cayenne pepper.
- 𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗬 𝗧𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗖 - 2 beetroots, 2 green apples, 2 carrots, 1/4 lemon, piece of ginger.
- 𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗢𝗫𝗜𝗙𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 - 1/4 bunch Spinach, 4 celery sticks, 2 green apples, 2 oranges, piece of ginger and a handful of rosemary and mint leaves.
To turn your juices in to a smoothie, you can blend in an avocado to the green juices or a banana to the others.
I use a juice extractor and drink just the pure juice. It’s best to drink it once it has been freshly made or you may keep it in the fridge and have the balance the next day. Some people make quantities and freeze it for the whole week – that’s also an option but I prefer drinking it FRESH daily to absorb the pure nutrients!

MY CACAO DRINK RECIPE
- 1 tbsp of cacao (organic ceremonial grade cacao)
- pinch of cinnamon
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- Pinch of ginger powder
- 1 cup/mug of milk
- Add honey to sweeten (optional)
- Add a pinch of salt for a richer chocolate taste.
- Put all ingredients above in a boiling jug and heat on mid heat, take it off before it boils and ensure that you whisk it while it heats!

Honour your body…Unwind with a hot cup of cacao as a substitute for comfort drinking/ eating!
This is my hearty and comforting drink…rich in antioxidants and powerful healing properties!
I have a hot cup of cacao in place of milo/ hot chocolate and drink it while doing self reflection and journalling in my diary.
